Having made the acquaintance of several Bulgarian musicians living in Minnesota several years ago, I became fascinated by Bulgarian music and dance, and even had the opportunity to travel to Bulgaria during the summer of 2011 (courtesy of a Minnesota State Arts Board grant for artist projects), where I participated in the Folk Music and Dance Seminar in Plovdiv, traveled some in the country, and spent time at the Bulgarian Composers Union in Sofia, where I was given copies of some orchestra scores and parts, “Thracian Dances” being one of them.

June 2010 – Pavlina Dokovska and Stefan Staynov were interviewed on Bulgarian National Television.  They spoke about the Petko Staynov project,  the two concerts, and Isabel Stainow Wilcox.

– A special movie on Petko Staynov will be made in Bulgaria based on a competition that will yield the most interesting idea.
